Finding a therapist can be a daunting process. In my work, I offer a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space where we can collaboratively explore ways to acknowledge the difficulties in your life and help you feel heard and understood.
I work through an integrative lens, incorporating various theoretical approaches and practices tailored to each individual’s needs, particularly Person-Centred and Psychodynamic Theory, mindfulness, and bodywork. For example, we may explore your childhood, dreams, or unconscious patterns to help you gain a better understanding of what’s going on beneath the surface and the reasons behind your thoughts and behaviour. If appropriate, I may also incorporate mindfulness- based practices to provide practical support for managing difficult emotions or gentle bodywork to release tension held in the body.
I bring a diverse background to the therapeutic relationship. I ran an independent retail business for over 25 years and have practiced and taught yoga and meditation for 20 years. More recently, I’ve worked in NHS and voluntary sector mental health, substance use, and addiction services, both as a Counsellor and Recovery Practitioner in a harm reduction capacity.
My own journey into psychotherapy began 14 years ago, inspired by personal experiences that highlighted the transformative influence of therapy. Having navigated the challenges of lone parenting, step-parenting, neurodiversity, difficult life transitions, and living in a family affected by substance misuse, I bring a unique perspective and deep empathy to my practice. These experiences, coupled with professional training, have enriched my understanding of diverse life challenges and enabled me to connect with clients on a deeper level.
I am committed to supporting clients through their life challenges and transitions, helping them build resilience, gain insight, and develop more positive and meaningful relationships. My practice is grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth and change, and I am dedicated to walking alongside my clients as they navigate their unique paths towards well-being.
