About Me
Hello my name is Emma, and I am a Clinical Psychologist. I completed my Clinical Psychology Doctorate in 2011, and I have experience practicing in a range of adult NHS services across London – working as a Senior Psychologist since 2015. The various difficulties I work with include anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, overwhelming emotions, stress, navigating life stage transitions, and relationship difficulties.
I understand that there are times in our lives when we need the chance to make sense of the difficulties we are facing within a safe and confidential space, where we feel able to just be ourselves and completely honest. The people I work with appreciate my compassionate and respectful approach, and my focus is on really being present with you and enabling you to talk about what is most important. Making changes in our lives can be hard to do alone, but within a supportive therapeutic relationship this can become more possible.
My Approach
I have trained in a range of 1:1 therapy models including CBT approaches such as compassion and mindfulness-focused therapy, narrative work, and trauma processing therapies such as EMDR. I have also worked with many families and social networks using systemic therapy models, as well as Open Dialogue informed principles. I draw on these approaches where appropriate in my individual work too, supporting people to understand their lives in the context of the social systems that they exist within – including our families and cultural contexts.
